Calcium carbonate filled masterbatch: a core filler for cost reduction and efficiency improvement, balancing performance enhancement and process adaptation

Calcium carbonate filling masterbatch is a plastic filling additive made by high-speed mixing and melt extrusion granulation of heavy calcium carbonate or light calcium carbonate as the main filler, combined with carrier resins (such as PE, PP, PVC), dispersants, coupling agents and other additives. Its core value lies in reducing the raw material cost of plastic products while improving multiple properties of the products. In application scenarios, calcium carbonate filled masterbatch is widely suitable for processing techniques such as injection molding, blow molding, roll pressing, and pipe manufacturing. When producing small and medium-sized plastic parts (such as daily necessities, toys, and home appliance shells) through injection molding, adding an appropriate amount of calcium carbonate filled masterbatch can reduce raw material costs, while improving the rigidity, heat resistance, and dimensional stability of the product, and reducing shrinkage and deformation of the product; In blow molding processing, it can be used to produce plastic buckets, hollow containers, etc., to enhance the uniformity of product wall thickness and impact resistance; When roll forming films and sheets, adding it can improve the stiffness of the film and reduce the tensile deformation rate; In the production of PE/PP/PVC pipes, calcium carbonate filled masterbatch can enhance the rigidity and compressive strength of the pipes, improve the extrusion processing performance of the pipes, and reduce the occurrence of melt fracture. When in use, the addition ratio should be flexibly adjusted according to the product requirements: for precision injection molded parts, the addition ratio is usually between 10% and 30% to ensure toughness; For products such as pipes and plates that require high rigidity, the addition ratio can reach 30% -60%; Blow molded products need to be controlled at 20% -40% to avoid affecting the flexibility of the product. In addition, the particle size and dispersibility of calcium carbonate filled masterbatch are crucial. High quality products can avoid filler aggregation and ensure uniform mixing with plastic substrates through coupling agent treatment and efficient dispersion. This not only does not affect the appearance of the product, but also improves the surface glossiness of the plastic product. At the same time, calcium carbonate filled masterbatch can also reduce the molding shrinkage rate of plastics, reduce the warping deformation of injection molded parts and pipes, especially suitable for plastic products with high requirements for dimensional accuracy.
