Application scenarios and advantages of plastic desiccant masterbatch: full process compatibility, improving production efficiency
Feb 27,2017
Plastic desiccant masterbatch, as an efficient moisture absorbing agent, is suitable for all plastic processing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, roll pressing, and pipe manufacturing, especially for production of plastic raw materials with strong moisture absorption or in humid environments. In the injection molding process, PA, PET, ABS and other raw materials have strong moisture absorption. If not fully dehumidified, defects such as bubbles, silver lines, and weld marks may occur during processing. Desiccant masterbatch can be directly blended with the raw materials to absorb moisture in real time during the injection molding process, ensuring smooth surface and precise size of the product. It is especially suitable for producing precision electronic component casings, automotive parts and other products with high quality requirements; In the blow molding process, when used to produce plastic bottles, chemical drums, and hollow containers, it can avoid bottle wall bubbles and uneven wall thickness caused by moisture, and improve the sealing and corrosion resistance of the containers; When roll forming films and sheets, desiccant masterbatch can eliminate problems such as pinholes and increased haze caused by raw material moisture, ensuring the transparency and mechanical properties of the film; In pipe extrusion, it can prevent bubbles and cracks from appearing on the inner wall of the pipe, improve the pressure resistance and service life of the pipe. The core advantage of its use is that it does not require additional drying equipment and time. Traditional dehumidification requires the raw materials to be dried in a dryer for 4-8 hours, while desiccant masterbatch can be directly mixed with new and recycled materials for processing, greatly shortening the production cycle, improving production efficiency, and reducing energy consumption. In addition, desiccant masterbatch has broad-spectrum applicability and can be well compatible with various plastics such as PE, PP, PVC, ABS, PA, PET, etc., without changing the color, odor, and basic properties of the product. The addition amount is flexible and can be adjusted according to the moisture content of the raw material (usually 2% -8%). Even high moisture recycled plastics can be processed normally by adding appropriate amounts of desiccant masterbatch, effectively improving the utilization rate of recycled materials and reducing production costs.
